Demarc Extension

The Demarc extension is the connection to the outside world and serves as the critical component of circuit operations. Demarc extension is the process of connecting your organization's network to a data line such as T1, DSL, or POTS provided by the telephone company or other vendor. The "demarcation point" (or Demarc for short) is the Minimum Point of Entry (MPOE) at your location where the vendor terminates their circuit. Beyond this point it is your responsibility to connect your network tot that Demarc. The Demarc must be extended to reach a wiring closet or some sort of data distribution system in order to integrate with your network.

Simple Demarc Extension
Micro Networks can run cable (Typically 25 Pair, CAT3 or CAT5e) from the Minimum Point of Entry (MPOE) or Telco Closet to your equipment room or the Main Distribution Frame (MDF). Cables are concealed as much as possible and neatly arranged with mounting hardware. All connections are clearly tagged with mechanically printed labels. This will minimize servicing time, a critical factor in isolation and circuit restoration.

Test and Turn Up of Circuits
Micro When a customer purchases a new dedicated circuit T1 line the vendor will provide a start date on which the circuit goes live and test signals are sent to ensure proper communication. Micro Networks has extensive experience in working with telephone companies form the client's side in order to make sure your new circuit is working properly and to save you from unnecessary stress.

Horizontal and Backbone Distribution System
Micro Networks can take your Demarc extension a step further and install a distribution system for your network. It is often necessary to create structured cabling system in order to create large networks. Micro Networks can design both a horizontal distribution system or a backbone distribution system that utilizes multiple vertical distributions, such as in a high-rise building or a particularly long hall.
